Vision

IESHER aims at assembling and nurturing leadership to realise  transformation in South Africa and set global trends. The vision is of a nation that embeds in the fabric of civil society the drive to provide the most vulnerable with equal access to the fruits of this land.  The people of South Africa will know where they came from, how they got here and will position themselves in the global reality of poverty and racism seeking socio-economic emancipation with the rest of Africa and the developing world. Envisioned is a caring and humane nation which is founded and built on public values of equity in distribution of wealth. Non-racialism is upheld as a principle that blends the unrealized potential of diversity to deliver on majority aspirations for the-highest quality of wellbeing of body and mind of every citizen.

Paramount are the social values of universal access to efficient health care services of quality, reliable social protection, robust advanced lifelong learning technologies, socio-economic stability and leisure. Government and people will be united in creating public value that feeds into the loop of a functioning economy to power social output and accordingly invest in community services. Further envisioned is a society that plants its might responsibly in the global movement to solve the climate emergency.

Mission

IESHER endeavours to assemble, develop, and nurture an army. This army will consist of scholars, researchers, academics, entrepreneurs, artisans, champions and so on. The drive of this army is the eradication of poverty, ending systemic racism in South Africa and reaching beyond the negotiated settlement of 1994.

Strategy

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.
— Margaret Mead

The IESHER strategy is to recruit  people and develop them to their full potential by capital from Dr Selva Saman. This capability will be applied to power the ambitions of IESHER. The investment is focussed on digital solutions that connect highly skilled and experienced experts with frontline responders and providers.  The enriched work experience will be strengthened by a culture of learning and training, research and innovation, personal and career development, in the reach for the wellbeing of the entire IESHER family and its partners.

The covid 19 induced inflection in the South African landscape is best served by the adoption of rapidly advancing digital technology for the transformation of economic opportunity. This means the redistribution of wealth and land ownership and its use to address current pervasive disparities inherited from colonialism and apartheid - an elusive dream of the constitution and the liberation movement. IESHER will lead the way in incubating enterprise pilots and models and take them to scale, initially in promoting scientific emergent farming and energising the SMMEs.

Fundamental to the IESHER strategy is the transparency, shortening and digitalisation of supply chains. The economic success will power social impact transforming all levels of education and healthcare delivery. IESHER’s work will be bottom up with the greatest effort at the municipal and district level especially in the rural areas. IESHER is determined to be among the leaders to pull through South Africa to an even better situation than before the pandemic.
